The Actor Behide Phil In Eastenders Might Leave The Soap At The End Of Is Contract In August 2010. The actor could follow departing cast member Barbara Windsor, who will exit the BBC One soap in two months' time. Steve Told The Sun Newspaper: "Yeah, I really would. I'm not leaving yet. My contract's up in August. Then we'll see."

He explained that he is "absolutely gutted" by the impending departure of Windsor, who plays his screen mother Peggy.

"Her leaving will be a massive hole for the show and for me personally as well," he added.

"I'm sure they will leave the door open for her - they'd be mad not to."
